Europe
From en.swpat.org
In Europe, the main groupings for international or "European" patent law are:
- European Patent Convention (EPC)
- The EPC has 36 member countries, as of December 2009.[1]
- European Union (EU)
- The EU has 27 member states, as of December 2009.
Some countries that are geographically in Europe are not members of either of these groupings. Russia is one example.
