Patent "value"

There's some discussion of patent "value" as judged by economists. They say that software patents score highest on that scale, but then the studies conclusion points out that those same patents don't hold up in court. If I get time, I'd like to document what "patent value" means, and how useful or misguided it is as a measure. Ciaran 10:35, 11 January 2013 (EST)
