Liability

I remember reading once that in the USA, government agencies are exempt from patent liability. That sounds unlikely, but these sorts of misunderstandings using have a grain of truth somewhere.

This might have been mentioned last year during the Micro-blogging_patents#Press_coverage.

I just thought I'd mention that. If anyone sees any info that confirms, refutes, or clarifies this, please note it in the article. Ciaran 23:43, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

A patent holder can sue the federal government for damages but there some limits: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/28/usc_sec_28_00001498----000-.html
