Vala

Vala uses features present in any OOP language (present in C#, but also in Java, C++, Python... even in C Gtk+ apps), and has nothing to do with .NET (since it uses GLib and native executables). So I think there is no real patent risk for Vala. At least, there is not more risk than with any other programming language.
