For editors, {{SITENAME}} generally tries to use the same structure, names, and conventions that are used for editing [http://en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org].  A few differences exist:

* Where Wikipedia has "''See also''" sections, we have "''Related pages on {{SITENAME}}''" sections.  We originally used the name "See also", but people were adding external links there, so we changed to a clearer name.

* Where Wikipedia has a set of tags such as ''<nowiki><ref></nowiki>'' ''<nowiki>{{fact}}</nowiki>'' and ''<nowiki>[citation needed]</nowiki>'', we use "references" for all those things: ''<nowiki><ref></nowiki>'' ''<nowiki>{{ref}}</nowiki>'' ''<nowiki>[reference needed]</nowiki>''.

Style

ESP Wiki doesn't have a style guide. Here are just some observations about what's already happening. If there's a disagreement between this list and the current state of the pages on the wiki, this list should be updated. So, this list is purely descriptive, not prescriptive.

  • Category names are pluralised whenever possible ("Arguments", "Pages in French", but we obviously don't pluralise "Finland")
  • If in doubt about whether an article name should be singular or plural, go for singular. But sometimes a plural is obviously better: patent trolls - because the article is not about "the thing called 'Patent troll'", it's about the problem which is caused by the existence of many patent trolls.
