Germant patent DE10232674 was upheld by the German High Court (BGH) in the case Xa ZB 20/08 (2010, April, Germany).

As of May 20th 2010, there is a "corresponding and co-pending" application at the European Patent Office, EP1369790.

In the USA a co-pending patent on this idea was granted as US2003226110.

DE10232674 was applied for by Siemens AG on July 18th, 2002.
