Thanks for the clarifications. I've removed most or all "troll" mentions from the article - yesterday's discussions convinced me that it's just too vague a term for concrete discussion.
I've also got to thinking that the whole issue is null if the wifi patent is limited to manufacturers of hardware. I can't find an analysis to confirm or deny that, but I've invited comments here: http://news.swpat.org/2010/06/csiro-wifi-a-hardware-or-a-software-patent/
