Talk:Patents possibly violated by swpat.org

About.com's patents

About.com has several patents. I bet this site violates one of those. http://www.about.com/gi/pages/patent.htm

US patents 5,918,010 & 6,081,788 Collaborative internet data mining systems

6,157,926 System and method for training and managing Internet guides

6,195,681 Guide based internet directory system

6,226,648 System and method for modification of included files used in a automatic web page generation system

6,336,132 January 1, 2002 Internet resource location system with identified and approved human guides assigned to specific topics to provide content related to the topic

Australian patent: 729,891

Thanks (ah, I guess :-). Do you think the topic of this article is snappy? Or should these be put in a more general "Website patents" article? Ciaran 01:24, 3 September 2009 (EDT)
A) The title is spelled wrong. B) You could do website patents, and then mention as a subsection, which one of those patents this site violates. If you were to go for website patents, this page would be a pretty big page. No problem, I just saw they had patents when I was doing my research. I give no assurance that this is correct. Nicalvaro
Heh. Fixed the page name. As for the scope, I'll think it over (or wait for someone else to make the decision). Thanks for the links. Correctness isn't an issue - the main goal of swpat.org is to give people a good starting point for their work. Ciaran 00:11, 4 September 2009 (EDT)
