[edit] Rsync and patents
There was a note about Rsync having to move from md5 to md4 to avoid some patent, but there was no reference and the note was rightly removed.
Anyone got references for what might have made someone think the Rsync developers had to avoid a patent?
I found nothing of substance with a quick web search. There's one mention of patent here, but it's for something not implemented:
