[edit] land grab analogies

Feel free to reword the 4 related but separately listed land grab analogies. They cover distinct points, but they form a running analogy. There can certainly be a more efficient or clear way to express them. Jose X 23:07, 12 April 2012 (EDT)

It's almost always best to focus on summarising documents by experts (lawyers and commentators that get quoted frequently by journalists) and authorities (eg. judges' rulings) rather than writing original stuff. They've spent more time thinking their analogies through, they've tested the analogies in front of audiences, and they're good at writing concise texts.
For the land grab comparison, there's an article by Stallman [1] and a quick web search turns up other articles with this comparison.
For the overlapping boundaries problem, see the notice problem (and Patent Failure: chapter 3). Ciaran 07:19, 13 April 2012 (EDT)
