To fight software patents, we need to change legislation, secure good court rulings, and change the practice of patent offices.

Other ways have been proposed, but they have very limited effect. That said, these can be useful, and if someone's doing them, then it helps to examine what the most effective implementation is.

But, be careful not to get distracted by these activities. These will never achieve our goal. They just fix a small subset of the problems. See also: Category:non-solutions
